The alphabet for the Aretenomicon project is a simple cipher for the standard alphanumeric characters (a-z and 0-9). The cipher is not case sensitive.

Characters appear in sections of a hexagon, in 1-3 'rings' (depending on the size of the string endocded). Each ring can code up to 6 characters, so strings 1 - 6 characters long have only one ring, 7 - 12 have two, and 13 - 18 have three. Characters in the outer ring are shaped like isosceles trapezoids, with the innermost ring is triangles. The size of the sections change depending on how many rings there are.

Characters are ride clockwise starting from the one-o-clock position and read outer to inner. If the string doesn't fill up all the sections, remaining sections are left blank. Characters have slightly different versions depending on if they are in a trapezoid or a triangle.
